Though it is already too late for you to use this idea for your own Christmas cards this year, I still wanted to go ahead and share our very simple kid-created nativity Christmas cards with you! I normally do a photo card for Christmas, but wanted something a little bit more hands-on that the kids could be involved in making. When I saw Nativity sticker packs at Oriental Trading, I ordered a couple of sets because I knew I’d found the perfect preschool-friendly way to make our Christmas cards!!
I put together one model card for the kids to use as a guide and let them work on a card or two a day.
We added thumbprints on the back in the shape of a heart and I let them write their names to make it as personal as possible. Not to mention, the activity as a whole was great fine motor practice!!
The cards aren’t perfect by any means, but I think that’s part of what makes them special.
These nativity Christmas cards were definitely made with lots of love and though we made a bunch of them, the awe of placing baby Jesus in the stable followed by the rest of the classic Nativity scene was never lost on the kids one bit.
