A Countdown of My Top 10 Posts of 2012

#10 – The Top 10 Reasons to Think Twice Before Having Kids {David Letterman style} — a comical, yet often painfully real list that will hopefully bring a smile to your face!

#9 – I Got Dressed all by Myself: Organizing Your Child’s Closet to Promote Independence — describes how I organized my little girl’s closet so that she can get dressed completely by herself!  She LOVES it and me, too!

#8 – Thinking Ahead to Thanksgiving: The Tree of Thanks — a look at a fun and meaningful meal time tradition we started in our family during the month of November

#7 – FREE BOB Books Printables for Beginning Readers: Set 1, Book 1 Mat and Book 2 Sam – the first post in a series where 6 bloggers, including me, team up to present you with FREE printables to go along with BOB Books, beginning readers for kids!  As of the end of 2012, I have had to make logo changes on all posts and printables, so at this time, only Set 1, Book 1 is currently available, but by January 7th, the first six books will all once again be available and we will be back on track to release one new set per week!!

#6 – A Fun and Easy Way to Paint Pumpkins – a fun look at pour-painted pumpkins; so easy a young toddler/preschooler can do it and the end results are so amazing!!

#5 – 25 Ideas to Get Your Child Ready to Write – a list of 25 activities to help prepare your young child to become a writer; lots of these are actually activities that OTs recommend and use with kids in therapy.

#4 – If You Know a Little Girl, You Need to Read This! (especially if she’s cute) – inspired by an accident that happened at our house that made me reflect on a parenting “error” I’ve been making; designed to provide you with some food for thought!

#3 – “Hush” Bottles: the Calm Down Solution – THE coolest DIY glitter bottles ever and they work great for calming kids and as timers.  Enough said. 🙂

#2 – Something Borrowed: Rainbow Pour Painting – Can you believe my preschoolers painted these?  I adore how they turned out and the process is so easy!!

…and drumroll please!!!!  The #1 post from 2012 is…

#1 – What I Should Have Written in my Baby Book – It’s so funny this post is my numero uno because I collected all the comical and memorable things my kids have said and done just for my own personal collection, and then on a whim, decided to post it so I wouldn’t lose the file.  I guess I can assume you liked it, too! 🙂

**********

Looking forward, I am ecstatic about what’s to come in 2013!  There are so many things I cannot wait to share with you, including my very first children’s picture book that is currently in the process of being illustrated!!  I also have a few eBooks in the works, and plan to soon officially launch the parent site of In Lieu of Preschool — Parent Teach Play where I will be able to share an even greater variety of activities with you for a broader range of ages!

Stick around because there is so much more good stuff to come!!

Happy New Year!!!
