Planet Earth Crafts for Earth Day

I love Earth Day! It’s such a small holiday that most people probably don’t take much notice, but I do and I try to ensure my kids do, too. We work hard all year to reduce, reuse, and recycle in our household, but we try to step up our game in April in anticipation of Earth Day. Additionally, I think it’s important to teach kids about the Earth itself. Using posts from last week’s Tuesday Tots linky, our own archives, and from around the web, here are a collection of 18 planet Earth crafts to make with kids for Earth Day…or any time! These are great as go-along activities for science lessons as well!

These are all awesome ideas! I, too, feel that Earth Day is underrated and more parents should educate their children on it. Anytime my daughter and I go for walks she insists on picking up any trash we see on the sidewalk. I certainly plan on using some of your ideas in the coming weeks in addition to sending the link to her preschool.

Oh, and we even created a youtube video about it – I hope you don’t mind my sharing of it: http://youtu.be/qiTeYTOVFOg

    Thanks again,

    Hi,

I was just wondering if it would be ok to use some of your Earth Day craft photos posted on your website to share with some pre-schools? I am starting my own business doing dance and movement classes in preschools and thought it would be great if after I left the centre I could give them a list of craft ideas and websites that they could extend with the children? I would only be using the photo as an example and then listing your website for them to refer to for further information and the full instructions. Would you mind?

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind regards, Kristy.
